I am in my first year of print media, at school. Prints have attracted me for some time, because they are capable of providing extremely fine, crisp detail, and solid colour. In fact, the reason I entered the program was because I'm always trying to make my paintings look like prints — a difficult and time-consuming process. This is my very first lithography print — the stone, anyway, ready to print. (Please forgive the bad photograph, it was taken on my phone) I wanted to see how well my particular aesthetic would lend itself to the medium. Firstly, it was quite quick. It also looks promising, but I'll have to wait until later, this week in order to judge the result. I hope it's good, because I'm selling my limited edition of ten. Seven buyers were lined-up on the day of the announcement!
The image itself measures 37.35cm x 53.7cm. It's another view of a subject I have worked on twice before. You can see the others here & here. I completed this one September 19, 2013.
The original drawing, in progress, before I etched it.
