La Madonna Negra II

When I returned to Montreal, after a summer in Ottawa, I had a frame with me. I had meant to do more painting, but the previous work was so demanding that I never did. This piece was chosen specifically for one of my closest friends, and early supporter of my work: it's one of his favourites. I also figured that, as one of the simpler subjects in the model series, it would be a good way to occupy my week before school. Indeed, it was completed very quickly: about fifteen hours.
Although I painted it for this friend of mine, he never commissioned it. As it turns out, he can't buy it. So for now, it's for sale, on display in my apartment (hence the poor lighting). It measures approximately 30"x60," and is acrylic on canvas.

A picture of the artist at work.
