Jac Dancing
In the post with Anja Rubik, a few entries back, I mentioned Cameron Krone's tribute to Peter Lindbergh. This is also from that spread. It is certainly my favourite photograph from that editorial, and may even be my favourite portrait of Jac.
The reason I am so drawn to it is that Jac appears to be dancing, and anyone who knows me knows that I love to dance. I am forever doing Michael Jackson tributes while I cook. Something that fewer people know is just how important music is to me. Music is my reason for living. I can't play any instruments, but I listen to others, every waking hour. There are some pieces that get me every time, and which inspire a sort of ecstasy. My skin tingles; my temperature is confused; my breathing slows. There is nothing else I know that can do that to me. I know these pieces, and I know the trigger moments. Whenever I brace myself, I do the same thing Jac is doing; I pinch my fingers and close my eyes. So there you go: Pygmalion fantasy at work.
The original is pen&ink on 5.5"x8.5" paper, but it can be done as a print or a painting. Completed June 19, 2012.
