I think she may be the one who got me into women's fashion. Beauty is something that few people in the world of fashion understand. I will give credit to all the designers who do there own thing — they must like it — but it just goes to show how personal it all is. Balmain, under Decarnin, was the one of the only times I have ever thought, "that's hot." Usually models get the most garish makeup and ridiculous hair. Not there. Snejana Onopka was absolutely killing it, and she has been my favourite ever since.
When Hedi Slimane shot her, this first time, I was not happy with the clothes. But her face was enough to distract me. Anyone into this sort of thing knows that Snejana has this stare that could probably turn people to stone, or melt them, or something. I drew this, just because I had to do a tribute.
Original is a 5.5"x8.5" pen&ink drawing, but it can be done as a print or as a painting. Completed May 29, 2012.
