The View from Here

This is a view of the 8e Arrondissement, in Paris, at night. Although you would never guess it. My camera has a special relationship with my computer, in that it can't transfer images properly, creating mosaic pictures, with strange effects. These are often unstable files, and change when viewed. Sometimes this is really annoying, because it can ruin other wise good photos. However, my best friend was long a fan of the unpredictable and exciting results. Eventually, I came around, and saw that some of them have an aesthetic quality unto themselves. I call these fr∀kt_ls, in a somewhat ironic use of the term, because these images are hardly representational of their whole — its often hard to tell if they are representative of anything. This was a fragment of such an image. My favourite distortion ever to occur. The way the red and purple and blue interact creates this interesting, glowing effect. Taken March 22, 2012.
