This was the second high-contrast piece I did. The choice was fairly obvious, because the original photograph is nearly as sharp. As soon as I put this on my facebook page, a number of my friends fell in love with it. Throughout the series, it has remained a favourite, which is interesting, because I was not entirely satisfied with it. What I did like was how quick it was to make. Some of the ones I am currently doing are terrifyingly busy. Although you wouldn't know, without knowing the original photograph, the model is Anna Selezneva. I like her in some shoots better than in others — sometimes she's a bit too intense for me. Original is an 5.5"x8.5" pen&ink drawing, but it can be done as a print or painting. Created May 20, 2012.
